Now, onto my late post and the book idea I mentioned at the end of my last post. About a month and a half ago, I was talking to a friend about Narnia and Susan's no longer being a "friend of Narnia". I've always identified with Susan, mostly because we're both the oldest daughter (I'm also the oldest period, no older brother for me.) and tend to think on the more practical side of things. Really, I have a lot in common with both of the older Pevensies.
I gave it some thought for a few days, talked to a few friends who have written books, and came to a conclusion: I am going to write a FanFiction on the reason Susan no longer believes in Narnia. I have always thought that her story was left unfinished. C. S. Lewis never went into detail on why she forgot about Narnia.
I have several theories that may explain the reason why Susan turned her back on Narnia and her friends there, I think it started soon after the events in Prince Caspian (the book, not the Disney movie).
I find the above thought very sad - something serious must have happened to make her choose to forget and ridicule any thoughts or mention of Narnia. Her growing older and entering her teen years must have only helped her to forget and drift farther away. I intend to explore the possibilities over the next few months, I'll do my best to update you monthly on my progress, in addition to my other posts.
