Friends and Giggles

Sunday afternoon I had some friends from church over for a little birthday celebration. It was an exciting few hours! We started out playing Dutch Blitz. We actually had to split into several groups to play because some people had never played before and had to be taught. You get 8-10 people playing a fast-paced card game calling for cards to go in different piles and the laughs really start going!! Eowyn was a really good player,despite her protests that it had been several weeks since she'd played.
Have you ever played SWAT? It involves a large number of people sitting in a circle with one person standing in the middle holding a small rolled-up magazine. That person then going around the circle trying to tap people on their head. Here's where quick thinking is required: As the 'it' person heads for person A, they have to call out another person's name before they can get hit. 'It' then turns to person B, who must also call out a new name. This pattern continues until someone fails to call out a name before being tapped. When that happens, the tapped person becomes the new 'it'.  Lots of laughs will result, especially if two people start going back and forth calling each other's name (It's even better if they're on opposite sides of the circle). Chuck, Eowyn and Josh did it a few times and it was hilarious!
We then played a board game called "Imagine If". I can't really describe how to play it other than you role a dice and which card you draw depends on what you role, which then determines who moves.
I have no words to describe how much we laughed and teased each other Sunday. It was a wonderful afternoon and God has blessed me with some amazing friends.
