The Californians Series by Lori Wick

I recently found a new series to read at the library...and promptly finished it this past week! Our local library has been moving books around to make room for incoming books and has thus forced me to explore in order to find new reading material. For this, I am very thankful!

This series, The Californians by Lori Wick, is told in four books: Whatever Tomorrow Brings, As Time Goes By, Sean Donovan, and Donovan's Daughter. The entire series centers around Kaitlyn Donovan, her brother Sean,  her sister Marcail, and others that come in contact with the siblings.

In the first book, Whatever Tomorrow Brings, Kaitlyn (Katie) Donovan has lived in Hawaii since she was 5 years old and her parents moved there as missionaries. For her 20th birthday, her parents take the whole family to San Francisco to visit an aunt. The book follows the family as they face new experiences and meet new friends...and maybe a future husband?

The second book in this series, As Time Goes By, mainly focuses on a young man in the town where the Donovans live, Jeff, as he faces some past mistakes he made 5 years ago involving a young lady in his church. As they become friends again, both must be willing to confront their pride and repair the trust that was broken.

Sean Donovan is the third book in The Californians. As the only boy of the Donovan siblings, Sean feels anger towards his father and his delayed returns to the family. Feeling that no one understands, Sean strikes out on his own and falls in with bad company. After being sentenced to hang because of helping with a bank robbery, Sean is offered a second chance at life. Will Sean find his way back to his Heavenly Father, and maybe help Charlie find Him too?

In this final book, Marcail (Marc) Donovan is a school teacher in a new town and must learn how to live life alone in a town that is a little wary of strangers and almost dead spiritually. Viewing the town as her own mission field, Marc strives to trust God when forced to marry an almost stranger. Will Marcail stay in town or return to live with her sister again?

Hope that sparks some interest among you! Have you read any of Lori Wick's books before? Have a favorite?
