My twelve favorite Literary Characters and a few questions...

I got the idea for this post from Julia, who found out about it from Austenitis. I thought it looked like fun, so here goes nothin'.

Name 12 literary characters and then answer a few questions:
1.Meg (Little Women)
2. Aravis (The Horse and His Boy)
3. Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)
4. Emma Woodhouse (Emma)
5. Lord Percy (The Inheritance, by Louisa May Alcott)
6.Robin Hood
7.Aragorn (Lord of the Rings)
8.Eoywn (Lord of the Rings)
9. Jane Eyre
10.Sherlock Holmes
11.Mr. Knightley (Emma)
12.Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
There are SO many more that I could list, BUT I have to limit myself...Now onto the questions!!!

1.Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11?
Mr. Knightley or Robin Hood? Hmmmmm. I must go with Mr. Knightly. He is better educated and wouldn't go around plotting ways to 'share the wealth'. Mr.Knightly could be the English Literature professor.

2. 12 sends 8 out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed?
Mr. Darcy sends Eowyn to ..........little help?............aha!..to see if she can discover where Lydia Bennet is hiding. And, yes the mission is successful.

3. What is, or would be, 9's favorite book?
Jane Eyre! One of my personal favorites! I think her favorite would be Agnes Grey, by Anne Bronte, because it is similar to her own story.

4. Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6 or the other way around?
Hmmmm, Arvis to swear fealty to Robin Hood; or Robin Hood to Aravis? I think I'm gonna go with number 2. It just seems to make more sense. Robin Hood did vow to defend all women, after all.
Especially this lady!

5. Number 5 is looking for a roommate. Should s/he ask 9 or 10?
Let us think for a minute. Should Lord Percy ask Jane Eyre or Sherlock Holmes? Well, considering Lord Percy loves another lady, he would ask Sherlock Holmes. They should get along very well.

6. 2,7, and 12 are going out to dinner.Where are they going, and what do they discuss?
What a combination! Mr. Darcy, Aravis, and Aragorn! Well, maybe they can go to a nice restaurant and   can talk about their lives and adventures(does Mr. Darcy strike you as the adventurous type?)

7. 3 challenges 10 to a duel. Who wins?
Elizabeth Bennet challenging Sherlock Holes to a duel!? How unlikely!!! Mr. Holmes is too much of a gentleman to even consider dueling the lovely Miss Bennet, so he would refuse. But I think he would win.

8. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would s/he get it back?
What is Eowyn's most prized possession? Her own dear Faramir, of course! In order to get Faramir back from Meg March(!), she would either pay ransom or fight for him. But maybe Meg would invite Eowyn to tea and they can sit down and talk it over like proper ladies.

9. Suggest a story in which 7 and 12 both get what they want.
Mr. Darcy and Aragorn? Well, Aragorn could talk to Elizabeth and convince her that Mr. Darcy isn't at all   prideful, just a little shy and unsure of what to do. Meanwhile, Mr. Darcy is trying help Elrond see that Arwen will never be happy if she leaves for the White Shores. In the end, everyone is happily married.
My favorite dress

10. What plot device would you have to use to get 1 and 4 to work together?
Meg March and Emma Woodhouse....Aha!!! Time Machine, please Old Aunt March is opposed to Meg's marriage to Mr. Brooke, so Meg turns to Emma for help changing Aunt March's mind. Emma does so with her wit.
Meg is in the middle
11. If 7 visited you for the weekend, where would you go?
Aragorn again! Well, I would actually let my brothers be his hosts. They would go camping and hunting for the weekend, learning all kinds of things about tracking and....other wilderness things.

12.If you could command 3 to perform any service or task for you, what would it be?
Elizabeth Bennet would be of tremendous help giving me tips on handling silly sisters that I just can't understand. (Not really, I love my sissies just as they are)

13. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 or 5, what side would s/he choose?
Given a choice of Emma Woodhouse or Lord Percy, I believe Aravis would choose Emma. Gals gotta stick together, you know.

14. What might 10 shout out while charging into battle?
Let's see, who is 10? Oh, yes, Sherlock Holmes. Why, that's easy- he would shout "The game's afoot!"

15. If you had to choose a song to best describe 8,what would it be?
A song describing Eowyn, the White Lady of Rohan? "Edge of Night", sung by Pippin in The Return of the King.

16. 1,6 and 12 are having a dim sum at a Chinese Restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets it?
Meg, Robin Hood and Mr. Darcy are eating dinner together. The gentlemen would let Meg have the last   pancake, if she so desired. If she did not want it, Mr. Darcy and Robin Hood would split it.

17. What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
Lord Percy arrested? For defending the innocent most likely! He thrives on helping those in need.

18. What is 6's secret?
Robin Hood's deep, dark, not-so-secret secret? He loves the fair Lady Marian.
This is from BBC's Robin Hood TV series.

19. If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
I think that Mr. Knightley would arrive first. Jane is a lady and ladies do not race.

20. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, who would you be more comfortable walking with, 7 or 8?
I would have to say, I'd be more comfortable walking with Aragorn. Eowyn is a very good fighter, but   Aragorn is definitely the better of the two.

21. 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that s/he is a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender.Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3 , who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fiction?
Would she really scheme to destroy the world?

Ok, let's get this straight: Meg March and Jane Eyre team up to save the world from Emma Woodhouse's evil plan to destroy the world. Mr. Knightley volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he is a spy for Emma(makes sense). Meanwhile, Emma has kidnapped Mr. Darcy in an attempt to force Meg and Jane's surrender. Following Lord Percy's wise advice, Jane and Meg seek out Elizabeth Bennet, who gives them what they need to complete their quest(which also make sense. I mean, after all, Emma DID capture Elizabeth's true love). What would I call this? I would call it.....Emma's dastardly evil Plot to destroy the World.

I hope you enjoyed reading this fun little post. I know I had fun writing it!!
