A New Journey

I'm embarking on a new journey. I don't know how long I'll be on it, or what it will entail.

A few months ago, I had a patch of dry skin pop up on my arm next to my elbow. I thought maybe it was just a small rash, so made sure to wash it thoroughly every day. But it didn't go away. Well, the next guess was Exezma, which wasn't odd. I have small place on the back of my neck that was prone to Exezma. But, then I noticed the one on my neck had spread. And my arm wasn't improving, even though I was putting medicated lotion on it.

That was late February/early March. I wore a jacket and long sleeves so no one would see it. But, at an event my pastor had put together as a fundraiser for the Jesus Film project, his wife noticed my arm and told me to try coconut oil, and to also cut out chocolate and caffeine. Chocolate, because it's one of the most common causes of Exezma. Caffeine, because whatever I'm allergic to was being sped up by it.

After a few weeks on that restriction, we've determined that chocolate is NOT the cause (yay!); now I'm leaving out all fried foods. The next step will be fruits - I may be allergic to high levels of acidity. I am also changing my shampoo and conditioner - the place on my neck might be a reaction to what I am currently using. Mom wants to call our pediatrician for a second opinion and take me up there for them to look at. We've been very busy getting ready for next week's homeschool convention and haven't had time to actually make an appointment.

Please pray that we will be able to find out the cause of my Exezma. I have had the one on my neck for years, but it only recently has started to spread. The coconut oil is helping, but neither case is going away completely.
