Do Hard Things-Session 3

Warning: this was one long session, so I got a ton of notes from it.

-The older we get, the more limited our comfort zones are. But if we go outside them, we will learn to do hard things.

-Our culture expects us to do just the basics.

-Have I really reached my limit, or am I just doing enough to get by?

-We don't need to be afraid to do hard things just because they're hard.

-People grow when challenged to do something new.

-Have I fulfilled my potential?
1. A Do Hard Thing looks like recognizing, and fighting, sin in my life.
2. DHT means battling discouragement and complacency.
a. The biggest enemies of DHT is discouragement and complacency.
b.God's standard is to be holy.
c. There is always something hard to do.
d. Doing what's easy for us is not food.
e. What do I get praised for that is easy for me to do?
f. DHT builds mental, physical, and spiritual faith.
3. DHT means doing more than is required.
- If I take responsibility for things others neglect, we get the benefit of growing stronger.
4. DHT means getting over our fear of failure.
a. Anything worth doing is worth doing and failing...until you get it right.
b. We get stronger when we fail. All efforts produce muscle, even failed efforts.
5. DHT mostly means focusing on the small things in life; they are the hardest to do.
6.DHT is your best life.
-Best does not always mean easiest.
